Garrison Service Company was started in 1960 by Charlotte and J.T. Garrison. They represented no product line but were committed to providing their customers with a high level of service.

In the summer of 1990, Garrison Service Company separated the hoist business from the forklift business and started a new division that is "Hoist & Crane".
